Sir:-

I am directed by the Board of Trade to acknowledge

the receipt of your letter of September 7th (No. 35,084)

with regard to the manufacture of morphia and cocaine in

this country.

The Board are in correspondence with a few of the

principal firms in this country engaged in the manufacture

of these drugs, with a view to obtaining some estimates

of the quantity manufactured, and they hope shortly to be

in a position to communicate to you the result of their

enquiries.
